Experience the Charm of the Seychelles
Neighbour to Praslin, La Digue is the fourth largest island in the Seychelles. Reachable by schooner boat from Praslin or by private boat or helicopter from Mahé, the island is short hop away and, if time is limited, a great option for a day excursion if you cannot stay longer.
La Digue is considered one of the most charming islands; not as developed as Mahé or Praslin, bicycles and ox carts are still a more common sight than cars! The uncrowded, palm-fringed beaches are perfect for long walks and have also been the backdrop for many international advertisements.
If nature is what takes your interest, then La Digue is definitely worth the visit. Playing host to various rare species of fauna and flora, such as the Seychelles’ black paradise flycatcher, delicate orchids, Indian almond and takamata trees, waxbills and two rare species of terrapin amongst others, the island is a haven for nature lovers.
